Hello, and welcome back to my blog. Today I am going to talk about the time my family and I went to Las Vegas. So it was June 2015 and my family and I went Las Vegas Nevada. It was about 8:00 p.m it was dark and gloomy out. By this time we were already in Nevada but just about 30 minutes away from Vegas. I stared at the time watching it change by every minute. I Watched the cars GPS system count down the time left until we arrived at our hotel. I waited and waited. About 20 minutes left my phones light flashed, I check because this meant I had a notification. It was a text from my friend saying, "Guess what?!". I didn't know if I would be able to reply because we were driving through an empty desert, glaring at the cities lights from afar. I had about one bar and as I replied, "what?" I got another notification, "message to ________ failed to send" I put my phone down and checked the time once more. 15 minutes left, I sighed and gently pressed my head against the window. "WOW!' My sister said, "did you guys see that?!". I questioned back "See what? I do not see anything" "Lightning she said, "Lightning in that mountain far back!" My mother replied yes, I saw it!! I looked and saw a small, short, mountain in the far back desert looking pretty gloomy, bright, dazling, I knew it was bound to come back so I just waited, it was something to entertain me for the next 15 minutes. There it was, a bright light coming from that mountain, it was magnificent, amazing, jaw-opening. It seemed so unreal, It was bright yellow almost white, thunder roared along with it. It was amazing. I haven't seen something like it. Every time we saw it, it seemed to get closer, louder, more visible. But luckily we have already been in the city, made safely for thunderstorms and lighting strikes. I know this makes it worse due to electricity and metal and such but it was better then being alone in the desert where it had actually been hitting. The next day, we decided to go swimming, now all of this was different, the weather channels said nothing of this. We got to the pool and it was bright, sunny, filled with people, kids, adults. It was hot and sunny, no wind. All of a sudden it becomes dark like a solar eclipse, everyone pounders up to the sky and palm trees woosh and shake and we get out of the pool along with others. Whistles begin to blow from lifeguards screaming "INSIDE EVERYONE, LIGHTNING IS COMING IT HAS STRUCK A NEAR BY MOUNTAIN, EVERYONE IN!!!" People begin running not to care a bit they are soaking wet. We get back to our room and the streets are loud with the wind and empty. I check my phone and see about 3 messages from my friend that has texted me the night before. "I'm in vegas!"- About 3 hours ago. "Turn on the news, lighting is striking pretty close here"-About 1 hour ago. "Lightning storms are freaking me out over here!"-About 25 minutes ago. And one missed facetime call.
