Hi everyone, this is the time I got surgery for the second time. The beginning of 2015, I woke up very early, anxious to get over these nerves. Around 3:30 in the morning I got ready, I couldn't put on lotion, Chapstick, and I couldn't even eat or drink anything, and I mean anything! I didn't really care that much because it was to early for me to be mad about this. My mom and I went to the hospital, far away, the specialist. I couldn't believe it by the time I was inside the waiting room with a patient wristband saying the type of surgery I'd be getting. I saw people of different ages waiting as well, they called in a girl about the age 7. She looked happy, excited, anxious to get in, I thought to my self "maybe this isn't that bad" but then again, younger kids get things easier, much easier. They get to choose what type of flavor oxygen (weird I know) they're put to sleep with, they get to choose if they're parents are with them until they fall asleep, and they are putten a special paste on them so their I.V won't hurt. Well anyways, I got nervous, I saw curtains, lights, and doors shut behind the door the little girl and her mom went through. Then, all I hear is my name, I stand with my mom and walk with a nurse through a different door. After questions, shots, and paper work, I'm on this bed that the nurses begin to move to this room. I said bye to my mom and "she says see you soon! Love you!" When I see surgerions putting an oxygen mask on me, all I see is a white light, getting brighter and brighter. I hear machines begin to beep and my head gets heavy, the doctors plug in more machines saying "Breath, Breath!!" And I can't hear or see any thing, I'm asleep, fast asleep, I don't remember a thing from that point on.
To be continued...
This is really interesting Emily!

ReplyDeleteThank you Jocelyn!
DeleteMy son had surgery once. I wish your mom was blogging from her perspective too! (You didn't get the paste so the IV didn't hurt?)
ReplyDeleteNope, I've had surgery before and they asked my mom if I was okay with IV and I didn't really know if it was gonna hurt that bad so I said yes. My mom said that the first time I got surgery (I was about to be 3) that I didn't cry so I was okay with it. But I did not remember the experience so I assumed it would be like a regluar shot. But either way, they would've just put another shot in to numb the area the IV was going in.
DeleteYou are a really brave person and your story was fascinating that I want to know more
