Surgery part 2

This is the second part of my surgery blog. For part 1, please look at my first blogpost.
My eyes open slowly, I see my mom sitting there and I see a nurse besides me on a computer typing. I hear machines beeping and the nurse looks at me, I have an oxygen mask on and my entire leg is aching with pain. I instantly shut my eyes, I was only awake for about 30 seconds until I'm fast asleep again. The second time I wake up, I see both my parents sitting just besides me and the nurse is talking to a doctor. I try to move my leg but I can't, it hurts way too much and feels very swollen. My throat is dry, not in pain just dry, my tongue isn't wet. I try to keep my eyes wide awake, my leg from moving, and for me not to speak. I know if I speak it will hurt my throat, I just smile a bit looking at my parents, the nurse removes the oxygen mask from over my nose and mouth. She asks me what my pain level is from a scale from 1-10, I believe I said 10 but it felt as if 20. She hands me a variety of Popsicles all in different flavors. She says to me, "this will help soothe your throat as it should be dry from the oxygen mask, choose a flavor". I got cherry and she offered me more again and again saying the more the better. My leg was in pain even after about 30 minutes and It would hurt very much without a single move. I then wondered what time it was, my mom said it was 2:45 and she said my surgery began at about 8:30. A different nurse comes in and says I will be there for another 3 hours and I thaught to myself "what am I gonna do for another 3 hours in a hospital room?!!" Then the nurse who gave me the Popsicles comes in and asks if I can walk. I remove the blankets from over my legs and see my entire leg, from waist down In a cast. I didn't know I would have a full legged cast, but anyways, I try to get up but as soon as my leg lifts off the bed, the pain goes up so much I slam back on the bed. The nurse said she wasn't surprised I couldn't walk, not anyone has been able to just get up after getting the same surgery I did. She says just wait here, to get ready to go, my mom gave me my clothes and I get dressed on the bed alone. Another nurse comes and says your dad is coming with the doctor and a wheelchair so they can pick you up. My mom and I wait and I think to myself, it has not been 3 hours!!! But I was wrong, it was almost 4 hours, The nurse turns the TV on as we wait. My dad and the doctor arrive with a wheel chair and put me in it, the doctor hands my moms cruches and says I will only use them for about a week or two. I didn't want to use them espically at school, but I ended up only using them for two days!! Well anyways after about 4 months I walked normal again, and till this day I am grateful everything came out A-okay. (I still do not know why the doctors told me to breath and why they added wires to me but I know it happened!) well that is the story of when I got surgery, hope you enjoyed reading the journey!
